Recitals

 

Philpott Vocal Studio students perform in three studio recitals each year. Recitals are held in a local recital hall with a professional accompanist. 

 

Music was never meant to be performed exclusively behind closed doors. With regular recitals, PVS students have the opportunity to study voice with a definitive goal in mind, much as they would prepare for periodic tests in school. Recitals also give students an opportunity to share what they have been learning with family and friends. "The arts" are meant to be appreciated by both artists and others, and recitals give recitalists and audience members alike the chance to enjoy the art of song in a meaningful and memorable way.

 

On occasion, PVS students will also be highlighted in a recital of their own or a joint recital with another student. This requires a great deal of preparation and vocal stamina, and is recommended for students as they become more advanced and secure in their vocal technique.

 

Studio recitals are always presented at the expense of Philpott Vocal Studio. Personal recitals for PVS students are presented at the shared expense of Philpott Vocal Studio and the student(s) involved.
